Vimarsh is Actively involved in child oriented and other projects in Almora and Nainital districts in Himalayas, Vimarsh tends to empower women and children in knowing their rights and works towards educating them. Towards this end, they have a number of projects running, like, Voice of Children Education and Library programs wherein smaller children receive basic education and young adults can join bridge courses to further enhance their studies. The computer skills enhancing initiative is for students of age 11 onwards wherein training is given in the villages through laptops and 70 students have been trained so far. Childline program which is an initiative for needy and unprivileged children is being carried out in the Nainital district. 75 students are being presently supported by Vimarsh comprising 20 drop-out girls who are being supported to continue with their studies. Vimarsh proposes to focus on providing help and support to financially weak students so that they can complete their studies and apply for higher education as per their interest. Founded by 3 social workers in 1999, Vimarsh is actively involved in regional, state and national level networks of peoples movements, social and action groups and NGOs (with a social conscience) for advocating pro- people policies at all levels. It visualizes a world where every exploited and deprived individual may find social, economic, political and cultural security in this world. Vimarsh got registered in 2001 under the Indian Trust Act, 1961.
